Shorts: Botanists search Gabon’s rainforests as habitats face pressure

The work of understanding a rainforest starts with identifying what grows there. This Africanews Short follows botanists in Gabon, placing plant research within a wider story about the future of the country’s natural habitats.

The video offers a field-level perspective on biodiversity: researchers move through a living landscape, rather than dealing only with an abstract conservation target. Documenting plants helps establish the knowledge on which later assessments and protection decisions can depend.
