Big 5 Construct Nigeria concluded its 5th and largest edition at the Landmark Centre in Lagos following three days of networking, product showcases and professional development. Welcoming more than 9,806 construction professionals, the event provided an array of sourcing solutions, products and services that address Nigeria’s housing, construction and infrastructure priorities. Participants engaged in conversations centred around accelerated delivery, integrated sustainable practices and the application of advanced technologies to the built environment.

Exhibition highlights
The exhibition floor featured international and local companies that launched new products and demonstrated innovation in construction. One of the exhibiting brands, Liftline, an agent for Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevators, presented a range of mobility solutions tailored to Nigeria’s growing urban needs. Among its offerings is a compact villa elevator that requires minimal pit space and operates on single-phase power, making it suitable for residential and real estate developments.
Bosch, a multinational engineering and technology company, showcased its newly launched cordless tools and heavy-duty line lasers, marking their introduction to the Nigerian market. Highlighting their participation at the exhibition, Kingsley Nweke, Hub XBU Marketing Manager, Bosch said: “The quality of visitors at Big 5 Construct Nigeria is a key advantage for us. We’ve engaged with decision-makers, emphasizing our direct presence in Nigeria and the event has already led to new business meetings we will be pursuing afterwards.”
PERI, a leading supplier and manufacturer of formwork and scaffolding systems also drew strong interest, presenting its comprehensive range of solutions designed to support both building and infrastructure projects and catering primarily to contractors and developers.
Speaking about their support for and participation at the event, Viven Naidoo, Director of Infrastructure, Turner & Townsend, said: “With Nigeria at the centre of Africa’s construction growth, we see Big 5 Construct Nigeria as a platform supporting brands like ours to connect with stakeholders shaping the future of the built environment. As demand for sustainable infrastructure and resilient urban development accelerates, collaboration is essential to set new benchmarks and align with Nigeria’s long-term development goals. Our participation is a commitment to supporting clients in delivering projects that create lasting value for communities and the economy.”
Knowledge sharing at Big 5 Talks
A major highlight of the exhibition, the CPD-certified Big 5 Talks continue to draw construction professionals year on year at Big 5 Construct Nigeria, with this year’s sessions engaging 1,621 participants. More than 45 speakers delivered actionable insights across cost and commercial, design, project management, sustainability and technology talks.
One of the speakers, Morohunmubo Olayemi Afolabi, Head Partnerships and Engagements, Green Building Council Nigeria explored the integration of art and concept design into sustainable urban planning. She highlighted that creative approaches to design, when combined with sustainability standards, can create long-lasting environments that are both functional and culturally relevant.
A panel moderated by Alberto Osuji, Programme Delivery Consultant, PMI Nigeria Chapter, examined how project management tools are being integrated into design-build workflows. Panellists, including Dr Sam Eze Jr, Principal Consultant, Director of Corporate Training, Rejeses PM Consulting; Dr Gbolahan Pearl Oyelakin, PMI Global Construction Ambassador, Nigeria, PMI Nigeria Chapter; and Angela Babalola, Senior Manager, Total Quality Management, MTN Nigeria, stressed that improved data-sharing, real-time monitoring and collaborative digital platforms are already transforming efficiency and communication in fast-moving projects across West Africa.
In another session, fellow speaker Arc. Sebastine Abang John Thomas, Chief Resident Architect at the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, noted that while countries such as Botswana, Malawi, Kenya and India are already deploying 3D printing and modular systems for housing and infrastructure, Nigeria has yet to complete a full building delivered using these methods. He stressed the significant potential for adopting such technologies locally, as urban cities like Lagos and Abuja face mounting pressure for sustainable, long-lasting solutions. Integrating advanced methods, he said, could position Nigeria to reduce build times, cut costs and deliver more resilient housing at scale.
Commenting on this year’s edition, Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President, dmg events, said: “From solution-led displays on the exhibition floor to packed Big 5 Talks sessions, the industry is clearly accelerating delivery and adopting new technologies at scale. That momentum is exactly what we aim to build on when Big 5 Construct Nigeria returns from 22–24 September 2026. The industry has signalled that it wants faster delivery, smarter technologies and stronger partnerships. We are committed to once again bring an event that makes those ambitions possible.”
