Australia-based Resolute Mining has approved construction of the Doropo gold project in Côte d’Ivoire, marking a significant expansion of its African operations.
The project, expected to produce about 2.2 million ounces of gold over an estimated 13-year mine life, will begin development following the company’s final investment decision and the granting of a mining permit by the Ivorian government.
Once operational, Doropo could produce roughly 169,000 ounces annually, potentially rising to 204,000 ounces during the first five years.
The project joins Resolute’s existing mines in Mali and Senegal, strengthening its regional footprint while signaling continued investor confidence in West Africa’s gold sector and long-term mining potential.
