Troops of three Division of the Nigerian Military and Operation Secure Haven have arrested a suspected militia member and recovered arms and ammunition throughout a clearance operation in Bassa Native Authorities Space of Plateau State.

This was disclosed in a publish on Friday by safety analyst Zagazola Makama on X.

In accordance with the Makama, the operation was launched within the early hours of Friday, following credible intelligence on the suspect’s location in Hura village.

Troops moved in and apprehended the suspect with out resistance.

A follow-up raid on the suspect’s hideout led to the restoration of 1 AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 journal, 26 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, a money sum of ₦2,500, and objects suspected to be charms.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a member of a legal syndicate linked to the killing of a herder and the rustling of 1,250 cows in Tomborong village, Riyom LGA, on Might 27.

“The suspect is presently in custody and cooperating with investigators on the identities and areas of different members of the syndicate and their cache of weapons,” a army supply advised Makama.

Troops have intensified efforts to trace and apprehend the remaining members of the group answerable for the legal actions within the space.
