Withheld results: Kano govt reaches deal with WAEC, NECO

The Kano State Government has reached agreement with the Governing Boards of WAEC and NECO to release the withheld results of students of public schools in the state, this week.

A statement by the Deputy Director, Public Relations Department of the state Ministry of Education, Hajiya Hadiza Habib, appealed to both parents and students to remain calm and law abiding.

It said the government was not unaware of their anxiety to access the SSCE results of their respective wards.

It said, “The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Malam Danlami Garba, has appealed to affected parents and students to exercise patience as effort is being made to release the results.”

WAEC which released result of its examination recently, had up till now not released the results of all public schools in the state.

The issue had also affected students who paid for themselves the examination fees through the state government.

Since then, agitations and tension had continued to rise in the state, particularly with the recent announcement of screening exercise by many Universities in the country.
