Police Seeks Stronger Inter-Agency Co-operation On Crime Prevention

Enugu State, Commissioner of Police Mr Danmallam Mohammed, has called for stronger inter-agency co-operation for effective crime prevention and control.

Danmallam made the call when Mr Ogbodo Ndubuisi, the new Controller, Nigeria Prisons Service, Enugu State Command, and his principal officers, paid him a courtesy visit at the Police Headquarters, Enugu, on Tuesday.

He reiterated the need for sister security and law enforcement agencies to further strengthen the existing partnership for the benefit of the public they serve.

According to Danmallam, the prison service is no doubt an important agency in the circle of criminal justice administration and delivery to the public.

“I am assuring the Nigeria Prison Service of this command’s readiness to continually partner with it to enable the service to achieve their organisational goal in the state.

“By extension, the overall objective of crime prevention and control to the barest minimum will be achieved in the state,’’ he said.

Earlier, Ndubuisi lauded the efforts of the commissioner and his men in efficiently and effectively fighting crime in the state.

Ndubisi further maintained that the prison command under his watch, would continue to partner the Police Command for effective crime prevention and control.

“I must use the occasion of this familiarisation visit to appreciate the command for its partnership with relevant stakeholders including the government and people of the state, which has brought about security, safety and peace in the state,’’ he said.
