Happening now in Akure: NULGE holds rally to Appreciate Mimiko

Members of Ondo State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), is holding a rally today to appreciate the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko for his unprecedented support to the welfare of local government workers in the state.

The thank you rally, which is presently holding at the NULGE secretariat in Akure today, is to commend and pass a vote of confidence on the Mimiko-led government for being sensitive and taking actions towards the plight of the local government workers.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the union, NULGE is thanking the Mimiko-led government for reabsorbing over 900 local Government workers that were affected by the 2013 screening exercise in the state. Appointment of local Government workers as supervisors in each of the 18 local government areas of the state.

“And for the approval of the full implementation of local government scheme of service that enables heads of local Government administration attain grade level 17 which is unprecedented.”

He said despite the dwindling economic fortune of the nation which has affected revenues accrued to states, promotions have been regular for all categories of workers that are due for promotions, stressing that the 2016 promotion exercise has also been carried out without delay.

He further stated that three more Permanent Secretaries have been appointed for LG in addition to the three they currently have, putting the number of permanent secretaries at six.

“These and many other are the reasons we are thanking Governor Mimiko,  so he can do more” the PRO stated
