Talk of the who’s who in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, A-list celebrities and socialites such as Toolz Oniru-Demuren, Dakore Akanbi, Moet Abebe, Waje, Sharon Ojong, Taje Prest, Latasha Ngwube and many more; they’ve all been draped in a red-carpet dress by Nigeria’s fashion brand, Marvee.
Based in Lagos, Marvee, a women’s wear brand, is a creation of Marvy Olugu, a 24 year old sociology graduate turn fashion designer.
Her love for fashion and dress making started at an early age with designing for dolls and altering clothes. At 18 she enrolled in sewing classes under the guidance of Nigerian fashion designer Née Mo. After her training, she started out by making clothes for family and friends, and soon the word went out.
Started out in 2011 as Marvee Sketch, and later rebranded to Marvee, Marvee was born out of a love for art, beauty and the concept of timelessness of a woman, whose lifestyle, self-love and body is celebrated in the process of making each piece. Marvee as a fashion label embodies craftsmanship and delicate detailing for the woman who wants to leave a lasting first impression. With a focus mainly on bespoke tailoring, each Marvee piece is tailored to perfection to fit the clients form and frame.
The name Marvee has become one of the fast rising names in Nigerian fashion and has been featured on top print media like Today’s Woman (TW), Style Mania, Genevieve, Complete Fashion, and on-air platforms like Spice TV’s runway fiesta, Glam Squad and blogs like Bella Naija to mention a few.
With key notable achievements in the Nigeria fashion industry, Marvee hopes to penetrate the international fashion market and become one of the resounding leading brands in the global industry.
