I battled an ailment for 18 months – Yuguda

Armstrong Bakam, Bauchi

Immediate-past governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, returned to Bauchi on Thursday to the warm embrace of his supporters after 18 months of absence from the state.

Addressing newsmen, Yuguda said that he came home to thank the people of the state, after suffering from an ailment for one and half years.

He said a lot of sad events took place during his absence, hence the need for him to come and condole with families of his departed associates and friends.

Yuguda stated that he was not in Bauchi for ‘politics,’ reminding his supporters that he did not belong to any political party for now.

“I came home not for politics yet; when the time for that comes, then I will decide which party to join and then politicking will begin.

“I am in Bauchi to appreciate the prayers of the good people of the state when I was abroad for an ailment which I had to undergo surgery for,” he said.

He commended journalists in the state for upholding the ethics of their profession by providing information to members of the public during his administration.

Yuguda also said that there was never a time that his Bauchi residence was sealed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
